Design and analysis of a Physical Internet Transportation Network from a mode switch perspective
This paper describes how a Physical Internet (PI) network consisting of interconnected intermodal transportation hubs was designed, using a set of existing European intermodal terminals as the basis for the design and in order to make the model more realistic. In the design of the network environmental criteria that prioritise non road connections between the hubs was used. The characteristic of the obtained network in terms of structure, efficiency and environmental performance, using graph analytical methods was used.
